KSM Motorsport: bigger, better, more professional
02/02/08 - Germany’s most famous kart racing experts - Peter Kaiser, Michael Schumacher and Thomas Muchow - presented their new kart team KSM Motorsport and now KSM can officially compete at races, the first one will be in Kerpen on February 17th 2008.
Numerous drivers, a lot of them from the kart racing scene, came to the opening in Bergheim, in addition to the three owners of KSM Motorsport. Also the two-time world champion Carlos Sainz, whose son Carlos junior is driving in Peter Kaisers team, stopped by.
"Our new team is going to be better, bigger and more professional than the previous one. We three love and know karting ", said Peter Kaiser. Thomas Muchow, who has been his partner for many years, emphasises that the technical level is very high. Also Ferrari advisor Michael Schumacher is looking forward to his new job: "I love kart racing. I grew up with it, I owe everything to this sport and I have never distanced myself from it. When I was a child I always imagined working in that area someday - back then Formula 1 was too far away for me. A team together with friends: that is exactly how I imagined it."
Since 1987 Peter Kaiser has been a part of kart racing and since the mid 90s he is in charge of the team KSM Motorsport. He is considered to be a kart racing expert. "I am very happy that Michael Schumacher, who has been a friend of mine for many years and Peter Kaiser are my partners now. I am one hundred percent sure that this change will allow us to make a big step forward."
Michael Schumacher’s name stands for quality and success. The seven times Formula 1 world-champion (91 Grand Prix victories) is known for his detailed knowledge and this love for kart racing. "I will enjoy working with the team and my partners. That I also contribute to work developing young talent makes it even better. I completely trust Thomas and Peter, my team is in good hands."
Between 1980-1986 Thomas Muchow drove kart races himself. Since 2001 he has been Kaiser’s partner and took an active part in the teams success (winner of the Monaco Cup, European and German championships, and so on) "A proven team but new challenges. I am looking forward to work with this team, which will be even stronger in the future."
